Ladies First… a microfinance program

Mothers lead the way in our newly created microfinance program. Many of the women in this community act as mothers not only to their own children, but to the many youth who live there without family. On Mother’s Day the kids honored these women who have built into their lives by crowning them and giving a small gift to recognize their significance in the lives of these youth. We also recognize the significant role they have in building this community, so we are engaging them in a new microfinance program. Haitian business coaches will mentor the group. We expect to see their business and financial capacity grow. By investing in the caregivers, we build stronger communities where kids have a better chance of thriving.
