The Gibson Bien Aimé FOUNDATION FOR LIFE exists because we believe that there are many of us in this world who have ‘enough’ and want to help those who don’t, if someone would just tell us how. Our work is primarily in the most marginalized areas of Haiti’s capital. It is focused on its youngest citizens and begins by getting them off the street. We work to get them back in school and back in homes or in community. We strengthen their families and strengthen their community when there is no family. It is a privilege for us to represent some of these people who need our help. They are all someone’s daughter, mother, father, son …and they all have a story. Our goal at Foundation For Life is to help children, families, and communities build solid foundations in their lives that will equip them to live better now and in the future.
We believe children should have a place to sleep at night, and shoes on their feet.
We believe children should have somewhere with someone to call ‘home.’
We believe giving children an education can never be the wrong thing to do.
We believe children should understand the question ‘what do you want to be when you grow up?’
We believe we were all meant to work, and that honest work brings dignity.
And we believe children have the right to play.
We believe community is stronger than an individual effort.
We believe we are part of the solution.
