Emmanuel Bien Aimé, Co-founder GBA Foundation for Life

  • Humanitarian
  • Coach
  • Musician
  • Teacher

Active as a youth in sports and music, he exceled in both. He competed at an elite level in high school and then competed with the Haitian Olympic Committee in track and field. At a young age he was also performing live music and attended a music stream in school. Prior to graduating high school, he completed certification as an electrician ‘on the side’. He was studying in the Faculty of Architecture and Engineering when he made the life-changing decision to instead pursue music in the Haitian National Police Academy, where he was appointed maestro. He later turned his attention toward more humanitarian endeavours, serving as coordinator of a Social Services government program for hundreds of street youth. Emmanuel is also a coach, who, over the years, has had the privilege of seeing several of his players succeed at a professional level nationally and internationally.

In 2010, the earthquake changed life for most Haitians, and Emmanuel served his nation’s people tirelessly, assisting in numerous projects leading efforts to rebuild lives through housing, food, water, medical, microfinance, sports, and education. Emmanuel continues his work in Haiti through his not-for-profit GBA Foundation For Life where he looks to equip people to build better lives by leveraging and developing the capacity of those in Haiti.
